Miss Kindred's 150 Mile Challenge for St Peter's Hospice
Our very own Miss Kindred, Teacher of Heath and Social Care is about to embark on a demanding 6-day challenge in memory of her dad, Rob, who tragically lost his battle with cancer in 2015. The challenge will be fundraising for St Peter's Hospice, a local charity that provides care and support to adults who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset area.
Miss Kindred says "Starting on Sunday 6th April at the Dartington Crystal Factory in Great Torrington, where my dad was Sales Director, I will cycle and walk 150 miles. I will end my journey on Friday 11th April at St Peter's Hospice in Bristol, where dad spent the last eight weeks of his life.
"This year marks the 10th anniversary of my dad's death, and I am determined to honour him by finishing a pledge that I made with my mum and brother – to raise £18,000 for the incredible care provided by St Peter's Hospice. £18,000 is the target as that was the cost of running the hospice for one day back in 2015, including all the superb community work the hospice does. To date, we have raised over £13,500, and we are hoping to raise a further £4,500 to achieve our goal.
I would be hugely grateful if anyone feels able to support me and help me to achieve this goal by donating. If you are not in a position to donate, please share this message with friends and family. Thank you so much!"
Miss Kindred, you have our full support and wish you the very best in your challenge - please keep up posted on how your training is going!
