Students from V6 Sixth Form secured their place on the winners podium at the Young Enterprise (YE) Bristol Area Showcase, being awarded both Company of the Year and Sustainability Award for the fantastic management and marketing of their small business, Story and Sprout. 

Young Enterprise is a UK-based charity that focuses on providing young people with practical business and entrepreneurship education. They offer a range of  initiatives designed to help students develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and financial literacy. The YE programme involves setting up and running a real business, giving participants hands-on experience in the world of business.

Story and Sprout have been selling their children's picture book that raises awareness of climate change and the impact of humans on the natural environment. The picture books are sold together with seeds that can be planted as a fantastic learning opportunity for children and their families.

 

 

Mrs Sims, Head of Business said "The team have worked brilliantly together to achieve a deserved win at the Bristol finals. They have shown a great deal of passion and care in their product development, marketing and customer service. Well done Story and Sprout!"

Team member Lila said “We can’t wait for the opportunity to show the regional panel our incredible journey so far. We have really enjoyed the experience and we don’t want it to end!”

This win comes after an already fantastic outcome at the YE trade fair at St Nicholas Market, where the team were presented with the award for Best Customer Service. Following the win at the Bristol Area Showcase, the team will look now to further develop their product and panel presentation, delivering this at the regional finals in Poole, Dorset.

We hope that their haul of trophies continues to expand and we wish the team all the very best at the regional event in May.
